We donโ€™t just talk ESG, we live it.

At Soapworks, sustainability isnโ€™t a buzz word , itโ€™s built into everything we do.

Our solar panel system generates enough energy to power the entire site on summer weekends. Our beehives produce honey, sold to tenants with all proceeds supporting local food banks. And in our community allotments, tenants grow their own organic veg, making sustainable living a natural part of daily life.

From reducing our environmental impact to fostering a workplace that puts people and purpose first, sustainability is woven into every aspect of Soapworks.

Being part of Soapworks means being part of something bigger. Whether itโ€™s reducing carbon footprints or supporting local businesses, weโ€™re building a community that works for the future.

Environmental

Powering soapworks with the sun

Our newly installed 776-panel solar system generates 302,940 kWh per year, enough to power the entire site on weekends during summer.

From rooftop bee hives to homegrown veg

Our community allotment gives tenants the chance to grow their own fresh produce, while our rooftop beehives help support local biodiversity. Even our honey goes to a good cause, with all proceeds donated to local food banks, turning sustainability into real community impact.

Zero waste to landfill

We process over 50,000 bags of waste each year and provide monthly sustainability reports to all of our tenants to help improve efficiency.

Travel & green mobility

Secure bike storage, electric scooter hire and EV charging bays make sustainable commuting easy. We even offer free bike MOTs.

SOCIAL

Bringing Soapworks & the Local Community Together

Soapworks is designed to open up the local area and reconnect residents with the River Irwell. Bringing together our tenants and the local organisations creates opportunities to collaborate and support local initiatives, making a lasting impact on the area we call home.

Wellbeing built into your workday

From free yoga sessions to mental health initiatives and Fruit Fridays, we make it easier for tenants to prioritise wellbeing and balance in a busy working world.

GOVERNANCE

Leading with responsibility

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency, accessibility and security.

Fair employment and ethical sourcing are a priority for us. All of our staff and contractors are paid at least the national minimum wage, and our suppliers meet strict sustainability criteria. The building is fully DDA compliant and we continually strengthen cybersecurity measures to keep our tenants safe.

recent initiatives

mental health support

In collaboration with Mentell, a charity supporting menโ€™s mental health, Soapworks recently turned its lobby into a retro-inspired arcade, bringing tenants together for a day of games, connection, and mental health awareness.

Local Support

We were proud to support Salford Lads and Grils Club with a ยฃ2,000 donation towards their urgent appeal to keep their Grade II listed site open amid rising maintenance costs. Thank you to our tenants for their help in making it happen.

Community allotments

Our tenants are making the most of the community allotments, growing everything from sweet potatoes to fresh herbs. More than a garden, it's a space to connect with nature, unwind from work and contribute to a greener environment.
